Since the Albies werent cooperating we moved to the West end of San Clemente Island and fished for Shallow Water Rockfish. Angler Mike Meehan with a LEGAL LINGCOD!

Mike Meehan ended up winning the jackpot with his lingcod. Here he is pictured with the winning fish and a nice barracuda!

It was his first Ocean trip when he boarded the "Calico", Bodega Bay, on Saturday the 6th of Sept. It was flat calm t-shirt weather. Typical of Sept out of Bodega Bay. The Calico headed to Pt. Reyes in anticipation for some of the limits of Rock Cod and Ling Cod they have been scoring this past month. Fishing with a 6 ounce White Hex Bar Richard hooked into this beast. It was obvious during his 45 minute fight that he had something big. Once landed the group had to weigh it right away, tipping the scale at 48 pounds! Not bad for his first trip out. The other passengers scored some great numbers with limits of Rock Cod and limits of Ling Cod. These limits included a 27 and 25 pound Ling Cod and also a 12 and 15 pound Cabazone, which all looked small next to the 48lb monster ling.

We did very well on the rockcod, too!
